The boast of some senior Sri Lankan officials a few months ago that our economy was immune to global events rings increasingly hollow.
In the three year period 2005-07 US purchased about 28% of Sri Lanka’s merchandise exports and EU 35% accounting annually for a total of about $4.4 billion in export earnings.
