Entrepreneur of the Year
Kandy District grabs 11 out of 14 awards

The Chairman of Commercial Credit, Kandy Vaag Devi Fernando won the gold award made to the Central Province Entrepreneur of the year 2005 in the “Extra-Large” business category. The award ceremony that the Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Sri Lanka sponsored was held recently in Nuwara Eliya.

Eleven of the 14 awards went to Kandy entrepreneurs. Among the winners were:

• (Woman of the central province), Gelian Corina Proprietor stephanies Gifts and Styles- Silver small

• WMR Weeresooriya, Proprietor, Hillcountry Plywood Industries - Bronze medium
• Manoharan Ramasamy, Partner, Luckyland Biscuits - Bronze medium

• Ramya Kumuduni Weerasekara, Managing Partner Heshani Gem and Jewels - Bronze small
